Planning your journey to the 5th WCA eCommerce Conference in Salzburg? Here’s a quick and practical travel guide for delegates arriving via Munich Airport, the most common international gateway.
|
Getting from Munich Airport to Salzburg by Train:
While there is no direct train from Munich Airport to Salzburg, the connection is simple and efficient:
Step 1: From Munich Airport to Munich City
- Take the S8 S-Bahn from the airport toward Ostbahnhof (Munich East Station) or Hauptbahnhof (Central Station).
- Trains run every 10 minutes, and the trip takes about 25 minutes.
Step 2: Munich to Salzburg
- From either Ostbahnhof or Hauptbahnhof, board a regional or intercity train to Salzburg Hauptbahnhof (Main Train Station).
- Trains depart approximately every 15 minutes, with an average journey time of 1 hour and 45 minutes.
- With over 50 departures per day, train travel is the most convenient option.

- Cost: One-way tickets start at €27.
- Where to Buy: Purchase tickets at airport ticket machines or S-Bahn counters in the Munich Airport train station.
- Train Station Location: You'll find the train station on the basement level of the Central Area, between Terminals 1 and 2. Follow the green S-Bahn signs from the arrivals area.
